Are more traders starting to create signal tools using AI assistants?
With the AI Assistant in MT5, you can simply tell it things like, “Create an indicator that makes a decision under these conditions” or “Add this logic,” and the AI can write the code for you.
And it is not just about making development easier, even for people without programming experience. The AI Assistant can also help test the program and identify potential problems.
For programming beginners, the barrier to developing trading tools has become much lower.
But precisely because AI is so convenient, something dangerous can happen.
😱 Did the AI Lose Track of the “Latest Code”?
On September 27, I used the AI Assistant to create the condition logic and other parts of a signal tool.
When I checked it on September 28, I found several bugs and problems with the decision logic, so I manually fixed them. Some parts of the logic were quite complicated, and explaining them to the AI and having it create them correctly was difficult.
Then, on September 29, I noticed some inconsistencies in the wording of the comments. So I decided to discuss them with the AI and modify the comments.
However, the code the AI used as the basis for its changes was not the current program that I had manually modified on September 28.
It was the program from September 27.
As a result, the changes I had manually made on September 28 disappeared.
I got angry and told the AI, “Restore it!”
But of course, it could not.
The AI knew the code it had created, but it did not know about the changes that a human had made manually afterward.
Fortunately, the source code’s Undo history was still available.
One Undo restored the previous state. Another Undo brought the program back to the state that included the changes made on September 28.
This time, the problem was resolved.
But the AI did not restore the code.
I was saved simply because the Undo history was still available.
If MT5 had been closed in the middle of the process, there was no guarantee that the same recovery would have been possible.
🤖 From “Create” to “Test” and “Use” a Signal Tool
At the same time, AI Assistants are beginning to change the development process itself.
I am also preparing tools that can be developed using an AI Assistant.
For example, you can tell the AI rules such as:
- “Generate a BUY signal when these three conditions are met.”
- “Create a signal when these two indicators behave in this way.”
The tool can then be developed step by step based on those rules.
Once the tool has been created, you can test it, identify problems, and make corrections.
I am also preparing a system that can guide users through this entire development process from within the tool itself.
Furthermore, the plan is to make it possible to automatically create a support page for selling the completed signal tool.
In other words, the goal is to make the entire process easier:
Idea → Signal Tool Development → Testing → PracticeSimulator Integration → Sales Preparation
Tasks that previously required specialized knowledge can be made much easier by combining AI with dedicated tools.

🤔 AI Is Powerful, Which Is Exactly Why You Need Rules
AI Assistants have significantly lowered the barrier to software development.
However, because they are so powerful, they can sometimes make unintended changes or behave in ways you did not expect.
AI is convenient, but it can also go out of control.
That is why it is important to establish clear rules, such as creating a backup before editing and always using the current file as the basis for modifications.
You can also strengthen the development environment by applying rules to the AI itself.

The rules include common development practices such as confirming changes before editing, creating backups, commenting out the original code during modifications, leaving comments explaining changes, and maintaining a history of modifications.
The AI Assistant is extremely convenient. If you give it instructions, it can keep building and modifying your program.
But if you are not careful, the thing you spent time building can suddenly disappear.
That is why establishing rules before using AI for development is so important.
